1 v 1 Hit the Cone
As you can see in the diagram, there are two players, a ball, and a cone as the goal. There are no boundaries. The objective of the game is for the player on team 1 to dribble into the cone. The player on team 2 defends and tries to prevent this from happening.
If player 2 wins the ball, he or she is now on offense and player 2 must now defend the cone. This game should be very low scoring and tough for the offender. It helps the players work on dribbling past a player towards the goal. A game to three goals should be sufficient.

I tried this tonight with my U-8 girls team. The girl defending is standing over top of the cone. With 12 girls to coach it’s too hard to get them to stop. I recommend putting a ring around the cone approx 3 ft diameter to prevent this
